The Boom

Chinandega, Nicaragua
😮‍💨Hold-downs🌀Strong rips

The Boom is Nicaragua's most celebrated barrel—a world-class A-frame beachbreak that has been likened to a miniature Puerto Escondido for its hollow, dredging peaks and startling consistency. Pioneered in the late 1990s, this wave earns its namesake season after season as Northern Nicaragua's premier tube-riding destination. The outside canyon magnetizes swells and creates textbook barrels that break close to shore, making it nearly impossible not to score a tube on a good day. Normal surfers get the wave of their lives here—just be ready for the power and the consequences.
