Supertubos is Portugal's answer to Pipeline—a savage beachbreak that produces some of the heaviest barrels in Europe. The wave breaks over sand banks shaped by the Nazaré Canyon system, creating hollow, powerful tubes that have earned it a permanent spot on the WSL Championship Tour. Located on the Peniche peninsula, it picks up virtually any Atlantic swell and transforms it into throaty barrels. The takeoff is critical, the lip is thick, and the closeouts are unforgiving. Portuguese Pipeline indeed.

The Supertubos profile favors mid to high tide. Compare this preference with the forecast tide and local conditions before choosing a session.
The Supertubos profile uses wind from NE (45°) as its preferred direction, with an offshore range of 0° to 90°. Wind speed matters too: light winds outside that range can still produce surfable conditions, while strong offshore winds can make takeoffs difficult.
The Supertubos scoring profile favors swell from W (225° to 315°), a swell-height range of 1.8m to 3.7m, and a reference period of 16s. These are model inputs, not guaranteed breaking-wave heights or a promise that the surf will suit every ability.
The main season at Supertubos is Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr. A secondary window runs May. Sept-Apr (4-8% optimal)
