Ovaka Pass opens up the Vava'u island group for surfing, 300km north of Tongatapu. An exposed reef break on the outer reef of Ovaka island that has quite consistent surf from SW groundswells. Never gets crowded. Hazards include urchins, rips, and rocks. The Vava'u group is also famous for whale watching from July to October.
