Maresias is Gabriel Medina's home break and arguably the most high-performance beach break in Brazil. The wave breaks over shifting sandbars that produce world-class barrels when autumn and winter swells push up from the south. The "Canto do Moreira" section at the south end is the most famous peak, where Medina grew up learning the airs and tubes that would make him a two-time world champion. The nightlife here is legendary, making it a complete surf trip destination.

The Maresias profile does not specify a preferred tide stage. That does not mean tide has no effect: check local conditions alongside swell and wind.
The Maresias profile uses wind from N (0°) as its preferred direction, with an offshore range of 315° to 45°. Wind speed matters too: light winds outside that range can still produce surfable conditions, while strong offshore winds can make takeoffs difficult.
The Maresias scoring profile favors swell from S (157° to 225°), a swell-height range of 1.2m to 3.5m, and a reference period of 14s. These are model inputs, not guaranteed breaking-wave heights or a promise that the surf will suit every ability.
