Freights
Freights is a sheltered left at the eastern end of Oistins Bay on Barbados' south coast, a welcome contrast to the east coast's intensity. Most of the time it's small and mellow, and with a sand and reef bottom in about four feet of water it suits beginners and longboarders. When a big southwest hurricane swell slams into the island, it can transform into a long, hollow left with aquamarine barrels. Steps lead down from the cliff top, which doubles as a lookout for checking the surf.
