Marrawah

Northwest Tasmania, Australia
🦈Sharks🌀Strong rips🏝️Remote🪨Rocks

Marrawah is Australia's most exposed coastline—a wild stretch of Tasmania's northwest corner that takes the full brunt of the Roaring Forties. The waves here are powerful and unforgiving, breaking onto remote beaches backed by button grass plains and ancient rainforest. Great White sharks are common, as are powerful currents and zero crowds. When giant W-SW swells march in from the Southern Ocean, Marrawah produces some of the heaviest beach break waves in the country. This is frontier surfing for experienced surfers only.
