Tofinho Point is East Africa's premier left-hand point break—a long, peeling wave near the backpacker town of Tofo in Mozambique. When Indian Ocean cyclone swells hit during winter (April-September), the point comes alive with quality waves in warm, crystal-clear water. The area is known for whale sharks and manta rays, adding marine life encounters to the surf experience. Shark activity is real but manageable. This is African adventure surfing at its most authentic.
