Okuragahama was named one of the "Best 100 Beaches in Japan," and the 4-kilometer stretch of white sand and quality peaks justifies the title. Located near Hyuga City in northern Miyazaki, the beach offers both left and right-handers across its expansive length, with enough room to escape crowds. The triangular sandbars formed by rivermouth outflows produce quality waves during typhoon season, and the scale of the beach means there's always a peak with space.
