Laje do Bode is Fernando de Noronha's right-hand gem, a perfect reef break that some locals consider even better than the more famous Cacimba do Padre. The wave breaks over a volcanic rock shelf and produces long, mechanical barrels when NNW swells wrap around the island. The takeoff is more forgiving than Cacimba but the inside section throws hard, rewarding surfers with deep, square tubes. Being on a remote volcanic island 350km offshore adds to the adventure.
