Avalanche is a deepwater outer reef near Haleiwa that handles massive swells when the inner breaks are closing out. The left-hand wave breaks in deeper water, producing long, powerful walls. November typically offers the cleanest conditions. This is one of Hawaii's go-to spots when the North Shore is experiencing XXL conditions.
