Cyclops is a freakish Western Australian slab that produces some of the thickest, most deformed lips ever photographed. Located offshore from Esperance, the wave breaks over an extremely shallow reef shelf in an eyeball-shaped formation that inspired its name. When massive Southern Ocean swells hit the reef, the wave mutates into a monstrous tube that barely seems possible. Boat access only, expert only, and rarely surfed. Cyclops represents the outer edge of what's humanly possible in slab surfing.
