Cribbar is England's biggest wave—an offshore reef near Newquay that only breaks a handful of times per year, with truly good conditions occurring maybe once a decade. The wave requires the precise alignment of spring tides, massive long-period Atlantic swells, and light winds. When conditions align, Cribbar produces powerful faces in the 30-50 foot range off the Cornish coast. First surfed in the 1960s, it remains one of Britain's most challenging and elusive waves.
