Cow Bombie is Western Australia's deep-water big wave spot—an offshore reef near Gracetown that is amplified by the Albany Canyon to produce waves claimed to exceed 60 feet. The wave only breaks on the largest swells and requires jet-ski or boat access. The isolated location, cold water, and high shark activity add to the challenge. When massive SW systems march out of the Southern Ocean, Cow Bombie lights up with some of Australia's largest rideable waves.
